Ammo Cans

So I was at the store yesterday and while perusing the ammo can section I nearly had to take a crap in one when I saw that rocket boxes are up to $45.00 A BOX.
Thank god I have enough already but has anyone else seen the price of these go up like gasoline?
FYI for you RFV people it was at Factory Surplus(foramly my favorite store)

I saw that the other day. Guess they're paying for the remodel by jacking up their prices

Thats what I call "giving back" to the whitewater community

For what its worth if you are in Portland and looking for some, i've got a pair i'll sell for half whatever Andy & bax wants. Mine are nicer i removed the cross bracing and painted mine white so they dont cook in the sun

There are several reasons the cost has gone up. One is the cost of gasoline. Those things are heavy and expensive to ship. There must be a limited supply and some dealers have been hoarding them in storage for forty years. It has gotten more difficult to find ones that have been stored correctly. I used to open up each ammo can that would come on a pallet and each one that had a bad seal would be subtracted before determining the actual cost per can.

Regardless, they are overpriced by about $10 and they should eat some profit to keep their reputation as being a store that will give its customers a fair deal.

Just picked one up in primo condition yesterday from JAX in Loveland for $29.00. At $45 it better be powder coated.

I picked up four 20mm cans from Colorado Springs from this guy. He's charging $25per can and they're in fantastic shape. He doesn't ship.

I only partially agree, 245 rocket boxes sold for $1700. Less than $7 a box. That leave you a profit of $8100 if you are able to sell them all. That's a lot of gas...

go to govliquidation.com and look up amo boxes, they sell all sizes in quantities of PALLETS drive out with a trailer and drag a hundred of them back, then sell them left overs online/ebay;

The reason they cost more is because THERE is a use for them and someone needs one. Ha! go figure. Also I agree they are heavy to ship.
