Piedra road status (aka First fork Rd or FR 622)

As of May 1st, the road is closed. I call the Pagosa ranger station and they say that it'll take at least 2 weeks to get the road cleared of 2 large rock slides that completely block the road. The road is currently too wet (and snowy in patches) to have dozers start working on it, so they first need to let the road to dry out.

Thanks for keeping us posted on the Piedra access. It is a Colorado uber classic. I always looked forward to that road trip. Cold clear water tumbling through rock choked options. Fun, fun, fun culminating in hot springs riverside or in Pagosa Springs. Never better.
