Upper Colorado?

I would like to float the upper colorado! I would like to know, Where is the best camp? How far is the best camp? Is there fishing along this section? What should I use to catch the "Most" Fish? Can I bring my kids on this trip? Where is the best -place to "Take out"?

Well, if your a new boater........I can tell from you line of questioning, you want to take your new little rafty thing and put in at Gore Canyon Put in off Trough Road (right side). Bring the kids and wife they will love this family float through Gore! Oh but you need one of those big unbrellas for your raft.
Then when you get to almost to Eye of the Needle rapid, still got the whole family? river left you will see a neat little shoot in the canyon wall (river left)...oh yes, sure its looks like strainer but the kids will fit through the exit with no problem, oh take the unbrella down!
Then about 1 or 2 hours from there you will reach Ruby Horsethief pass the Loma boat launch and once you get to Black Rocks, take any campsite no one has in it. No serious its all good.
Did you bring the gun. There is some great Eagle hunting just after black rock and before you hit Westwater Ranger station. If you hug the bank of river right the ranger wont see you float by and you don't need the permit anyway........oh hide the dead eagle in your boat.. Did you put the umbrella up?
Take out in Moab....... this is probably more like a two day float trip, but you can do it in one so don't pack too much food.
When you get to Moab ask "pasta" about Ruby Horsetheif campsite signup, he will buy you a beer!
But thats just my two cents.

It's really not a matter of which site is best, they are soooooo hard to get that you just take the first available, if any. They are all good, no joke. If you can't get any, you can always pay the man and stay at Rancho, which can be a hoot. Or a snort. Or a toke. Or a ........... you get the idea.
