A couple of hits of window pane and a case of beer.

It's really hard to choose my favorite river meal but here is one of the most memorable: Polish sausage and Kraft mac & cheese
out of the box. We had had a very windy and challenging day on the Grand Canyon. We struggled into the Kwagunt campsite and were quickly blasted by some huge gusts as we were trying to set up. By the time the gusts tapered off and we were able to set up camp everyone was exhausted and grumpy. Mac and cheese with sausage dinner was quick, easy, and filling - the perfect comfort food.

One particularly memorable meal consisted of some katmandu curry supplemented by some cutthroat trout baked on a flat rock on the fire in the middle of the kalmiopsis wilderness on the upper Chetco River.

Hey John. Thanks for the thread bump. Fun to read thru this.

Mostly well. Life still has it's challenges. My girls are still alive and most days I am pretty interested in what the day has to offer- so it could be worse.

I always get a bit pissy when the mountain starts to close down, but I will abide.
