East Fork Owyhee Info??

It looks like we're going to have plenty of water this year.

Does anybody know who's shuttling boaters from Jordan Valley in to Garat Crossing these days? Or is there a different access point that is better now? There's been so little water in the Owyhee for so many years that people seem to have forgotten it.

Also, I've been trying to piece together a mile-by-mile list of landmarks, rapids, camps. Does anybody out there have one they'd be willing to share?

Thanks much and SYOTR,
Teresa

you have lost your mind.

Amazingly the BLM has a detailed map, versions of this map have been out a couple decades, and it shows all of those items.

In all seriousness, if you don't know about the BLM map and think the Owyhee has been low the last several years, go elsewhere, The East Fork is not for you. Snark emphasized for good reason, not a place for clueless factor, The East Fork is one of the most remote runs in the lower 48 with challenging rapids and mandatory long portages.

Wow. Trashing other people based on your ignorant assumptions about them make you feel like a man, Shappattack?

Not at all, its not trashing, its a blunt in your face reality check. This is a serious and remote place to go, bad things can happen to the unprepared. I totally stand behind the thought that if you have to post on Mt. Buzz to get those answers, your planning skills to go there are very much lacking. Regarding the flows, the OP was way way off base, so if the OP is so far off base, would that not logically call into question their entire understanding of the trip character and logistics?

East Fork Owyhee: Duck Valley to Three Forks

Well we made the run in late May and in spite of our abundant ignorance nobody died or even got hurt. (FYI to snarky man: I already had the BLM map, and no we did not pay for Barker's shuttle.). Launched at Duck Valley, took out at 3 Forks. I put some info on the AW page in case folks are interested.

Also put some photos on facebook, public:

See ya'll on the river!
