dirty devil is up, any takers?

Now that there is water in the dirty devil, I am looking to tag along or create a trip in the next few days. Any interest?

How do you figure it's up?

It's lower today than most of the last 30 days, see:

Muddy Creek looks to be on the way down for now, see:
USGS Real-Time Water Data for USGS 09330500 MUDDY CREEK NEAR EMERY, UT

NOAA is forecasting the most likely peak for the MC to be 500 CFS. A lot of that water seems to get diverted before reaching the DD.

I didn't realize so much diversion came off the muddy. I thought it was mostly fremont. Oh well, guess I'll look for something else.

You must have had a premonition because now the flow is up.

The last comparable snow year to this one was 2005. Today's snow is 109% of 2005. The DD in 2005 was above 200 from 5/22 - 6/15.

I'm hoping to start a run late next week.

You are planning a trip around the 20th?

We were hoping to do the Dolores, but looks like flow will be down. Is the dirty devil raftable or just kayak / canoe- any rapids?

If the dolores was unraftable we were just going to mountain bike

I'll either try the dirty or go backpacking in the area. Friend and I are thinking
of putting in around May 19. Perhaps we could arrange a shuttle?
