yosemite national park river info.......

sweet ! Yosemite national park is now allowing whitewater kayaking and rafting, sounds like a legit destination this summer. been looking around but cant find any decent info on the runs ? they're classes, put ins, takeouts ? etc.. not yet established ? long forgotten ? im dumb ? need the 411 buzzards. please enlighten me with your knowledge . whats the process for preparing a large area for a influx of paddling enthusiast ??

???? A section of the Merced River within the park has been open maybe forever? A pleasant enough float early in the year before the raft rental concession opens. Are there new opportunities?

Not allot of water in the Merced drainage this yr. U can float the Merced in the valley lots of tourist on rented rafts it is class 2 then it picks up speed as the river leaves the park. Believe rangers want u out on this section. It eventually get steep and huge gnarly. Next put in is El Portal but the gradient is steep. After that Red bud and then on down to Briceburg. Great run below the park if there is water easy camping and the shuttle is a breeze. Get some volume in it and the waves are huge, but not much snow pack as of now.
The float through the Valley is beautiful, one of the best ways to see Yosemite Valley but it is class 2 at best.
Run the T and then Merced and the day trip to the Valley. Not bad 3 days
