Women's drysuits

My lady is wanting to get a drysuit this year, I'm wondering if ladies prefer having dropseats or going with the front zipper and funnel thing. I just want to make sure it will be comfortable for her in a kayak.

I've never liked the funnel thing, so I just take my suit down. I found that it was a hassle, with all of the layers to keep the zipper low enough that the funnel didn't just pinch. However that REI one looks less flimsy than the one I used, I might try it.

Dropseat. Still a little bit of a hassle with the big butt zipper & layers, but with some practice, not too difficult. The only drawback I have heard of with the dropseat is for kayakers where the large butt zipper is uncomfortable in their boat.

Lowered relief zipper and a FUD. Get the Freshette from REI.

Seriously, the drop seat just makes everything about kayaking awkward, including going to the bathroom. Just go with the lowered relief zipper, get the right FUD, and keep the discomfort to going to the bathroom rather than making something as simple as sitting in your kayak awkward with zippers digging into your skin!

Kayak academy is an awesome resource for all things dry suit. They are super knowledgable and helpful, especially with sizing on women's suits. You can rent suits from them if you want to try one out before buying and the rental money is then applied to your purchase.

I don't like the freshette/lady funnel thing so the front relief zipper has never appealed to me. I think the drop seat would be a pain (literally) in the ass. I really like my system of a couple of really good layers under my drysuit and just taking the time to unzip if I have to.

On a raft, the drop seat is no big deal. But in a kayak, I could see it being very annoying or down right painful.
