Seriously?

I have a feeling calling them "kayakers" is like when the media calls a homeless guy on a bike a cyclist. Or a tourist in garden of the gods a climber.

They were probably on inflatable mattresses, easily mistaken for kayaks in the same way innertubes are easily confused for self-bailing rafts.

Tomayto, tomahto. Half my non-boating friends routinely ask me "how's the rafting?" this time of year...

Two people in a rented double duckie tried to run the mank fake waterfall by REI instead of the boat chute at Confluence....talk about maximum exposure for your ineptitude...news said they were tourists....must have completely misunderstood the cairns and orange bouys that mark the chutes...doh!

Damn! I missed it! I was at REI int the morning too, and I even walked over to the creek to take a peek while waiting for someone to show up at Starbucks. LoL

I could have sent them home with a nice YouTube video as a souvenir of their Colorado vacation.

I am glad they are OK.
