Where are video boating jobs?

Hi all,

I'd like to make videos in a new place next summer. The only outfitters I know of who hire video boaters are in the NRG/Gauley in WV or on the Penobscot in Maine.

Does anyone know of other rivers/outfitters in the US which have video boaters? I'm currently in BC, I grew up in WV, and I would really like to explore the American West.

Thanks for any info

"Video Boater" is a job? Holy crap have I been in the wrong industry! How's the pay?

Hopefully better than raft guide, which is both way too much work and not enough pay...

If you want to make $10s of dollars, Gore has video boaters.

It's a job! One can use to to afford tent-living. Much like raft guiding, but better.

I don't wanna give you too many details, or you'll become my competition

Upper Arkansas in Colorado. Browns Canyon is only class III, but sees a shit ton of tourists. Neighboring stretches that also need video/safety boaters from time to time include Pine Creek/Numbers and Royal Gorge.

a related historical note?

I heard a story over the years that the original whitewater photographers in
Brown's Canyon used carrier pigeons to shuttle film to and from home base for the fastest turnaround times in the industry at the time.

Do the class IV V runs with proximity to brown's canyon run often enough in Summer for me to get on something every week? I might be interested in trying Colorado. My goals are to meet new people, experience a new paddling scene, run new rivers, and get acquainted with a new place. Work doesn't really matter so much. I'm just worried the water won't be there in summer.
