What makes the NRS E series $1000 more then the Otter's?

I've read about both models and have found small differences between the two, but what is the major difference that makes the E series rafts a grand more then the Otter series?

Heavier denier fabric - check out the specs. That and the E series has a 10 year retail warranty while the otter only has a 5 year.

Also the E series has 2 more d-rings and 2 more handles on the 12 footer.

Nrs had a bunch of E series used marked down. If you read the disclaimer it says

Specifics about this item: This boat was used by an outfitter in the Colorado area for 5 seasons. It has been refurbished by the NRS boat factory. The boat's tube material was showing premature wearing, so patches were installed over large areas of delamination. Lots of custom accessory patches and foot cups, plus 2 thwarts are included. Sold as is, no warranty.

The premature large areas of delamination is an area of concern. Is this a bad batch of fabric?

Otters only have 3 chambers (plus floor) E series have the regular 4 chambers.

Exterior seam tape, urethane bottom chafer, 4th main tube chamber, more d rings, more handles, better warranty. Probably missing a few. When you roll it up and lift it you will know where your thousand bucks went. Tons more labor involved. FWIW, I couldnt add all the upgrades to an otter for a thousand bucks.

OP, it is not unusual for a raft company to have a line of rafts that are more bomber -- for outfitters who run the boat every day or folks who just want bomber. For example, Hyside has a 12'11" "pro" series raft for $4881 and a 12'7" not in the "pro" series for $4028. Pro series is 2520 denier material vs. 1680 denier for non-pro series.
