WFA/CPR at CKS Expo...

After some conversations this week, I have briefly talked to Earl at CKS and the thought arose that there may be some folks interested in a Wilderness First Aid/CPR class... The thought seems to blend in nicely with the idea of the whole paddling weekend...

Would there be any interest in a Wilderness First Aid/CPR class on the Sunday of the CKS Expo? There would be room for 10-12 people, maybe a few more if we need. This would be an all day affair (9 am to 6 pm, give or take). It would be open on a first come, first serve basis...

I need to let Earl know ASAP, so if there is interest, please email me or post to let me know.

For those of you that have talked with Marty this week, you guys are covered as soon as we come up with a date.

matt

Do it! I'd say make it a morning session everyday if possible.

hey guys. i would like to make it a morning session, but it takes a bit to cover the info, heck, squeezing it into one long day is a push (5 years and i'm still learning something everyday) at any rate, earl said sunday would be the best day, so it is. one possibility to make it shorter is that if folks are re-certing CPR and take the online refresher, then all i would need to do is test out in the morning and we could jump right into first aid...

there's been a good response, so i will speak with earl tomorrow and figure out the details...

The class is a go. I have a second instructor that is going to assist me so that we can open the class to 20 people. This is normally a $90 class that you walk away from with an ASHI WFA and CPR certification. As a part of the CKS PaddleFest, we are going to do this class for $75 to at least cover room rental, eqp, cards, the second instructor, etc, etc. It is open to the first 20 folks. Let's say that it will begin at 8:30 am on Sunday, May 21. (That way we can actually start by 9). Class will last until probably 5 or so, depending on absorption rate, questions, etc. You should bring a pad of paper, a pen, and any questions you may be able to come up with. Earl will have the exact location posted on the CKS website...

To sign up, please send me an email with your contact information.

Thanks for all the interest, I am excited to be organizing this class for you guys and gals....

SWEET! We've got 10 signed up so far. To answer a few questions: All you need to bring is a pad of paper and a pen/pencil. If you need a receipt, send payment to me ahead of time and I will bring one down with me and to sign up or get more info, send me an email!

Spring is here, huh?! See ya on the river.
