Westwater this weekend - 25k+

Hey All-

Who on here has seen Westwater 25-30k? Have a trip this weekend and wanting to hear from people who have seen it at that level.

The canyon will be umm, fast.. washed out, etc..

did it at 25k last may 15th. River rangers say that 25 is safer than lower flows, washes out a lot of rapids and skull is more manageable that say 15k, which I guess is considered a more dangerous flow level...wear wetsuits..

I imagine you can't get into it. at 17-20k it would be challenging to get into the room...

I ran westwater 25 times last year alone! once at 28,000 solo yaking. Pretty diferent river, don't want to swim!
Got any room for a safty boater?

I Have a commercial guide friend who's only flip in 5 years of boating was in bowling alley from boils at 40K. fully loaded bucket havasu with 5 guests. It gets squirrellllyyy in there at real high levels.

mostly washed out! just don`t pull too early at Scull.

The rapids connect, with large standing waves and laterals. The Room of Doom is 3' lower than the river near the Rock of Shock--it might be impossible to get swept in (or out) of there. The whole run takes approx. 20 minutes, or so. The eddy's are horrific, one sucked my twin tube cat front end down and released after a 360, very powerful currents.

The entire island on the left side of skull is underwater at that level. Not much to it really. super easy. As said above, watch the boils.

I don't understand why one would you go down westwater when damm near everything in the state is flowing? WW at high flows is BORING, unless you are just doing it on your lunch break!
