Waterton Canyon is ice free

I paddled Waterton at the lowest flow I've ever done 152 CFS. I cleared some wood out of a couple of drops. The rest is low but good to go. The water is the clearest I've ever seen it and I saw at least 3 20" rainbows caught while I was running the bottom rapid.

Glad to hear it's ice free. I don't think I've ever done it below 400, which is pretty low, but a fun, take your boat on an early season kind of date, probably have a few new pieces of gear to wear for the occasion... 150 sounds exceptionally low but I love that run because of it's easy lapability as well as the boat carry out. I always feel like it's an easy walk that adds a little more cardio to the run. Guess we need some water to come down from the Deckers side before it will bump up right? Robert's tunnel won't be adding to the flow any time soon, right? Someone, set me straight.

I gather that the reservoir's on the Front Range are pretty full after the floods last fall. Therefore the tunnel won't be opened up much...

Also, I ran Waterton a few weeks ago. Great fun at low water!!

Waterton

Beth,

No boat dragging at all. Small surf wave thatis normaly not there above the final three. Green Bridge is tight at the start and Verticial Blender (final rapid) has a fun right entry move.

Lots of places to wheel and deal.

Most of the water is coming from the Deckers side. Never really seen the North Fork that de-watered.

Waterton got above 400 CFS today with a bump in flows for both the SP and NF.

There's a tree that looks to be stuck well across most of the top of Green Bridge except the typically boated left most chute. Would take a lot more flow to move it downstream.
