Waterfall or Big Drop??

I have been kayaking for about 5 years and i want to find a spot where i can kayak off a waterfall and land in something calm. I am pretty comfortable with class 3+ and 4. Does anyone have some ideas of spots that would work and look real cool for some pictures? Im not looking to do anything that could give me a nasty swim or kill me because i have a family now days. I appreciate your thoughts! I just want a picture on the wall and people to be like "WoW"!

I dont know how far you are willing to travel but Mexico, specifically the Cascades de Micos is class 3, there are various guide services that take newbies without rolls down it, so the consequences are low.

We don't take newbies without rolls, but we take solid class III paddlers down to the Micos and several other rivers in the area. The rivers are incredible and lodging and food are through a luxury eco-resort, so it's a pretty good time. We have activities for non-paddling friends and family to come along too.

There are loads of pictures in the trip reports linked from River Gypsies Mexico Creeking Trips

South Mineral Creek is pretty easy.
South Mineral Creek

The link says it's class V+ but the falls is simple.

Count sent this to me a couple months ago...I have done no fun falls and coors falls so far. Let me know if you want to join us some time. Right now planning on going back to coors falls once the flow drops a little (I found out the eddy is hard to catch over 300 cfs)

No Fun Falls- Bear Creek- IV <100
Coors Falls- West Fork Clear Creek IV+ <200 <--Boof recommended
Crystal Mill Falls- Crystal River V- 450-1000 <-- A little tricky
Big Wood Falls- Daisy Creek V- >100 <--Boof recommended
Adrenaline Falls- Lime Creek V 100-300 <--Tricky
18'er- Oh-Be-Joyful V >150 <--Must catch eddy
Power House- Fossil Creek IV >40 <--in AZ, super friendly
Cauldron- Lake Creek V <200
Sweetwater Falls-Sweetwater Creek IV >100 <--Illegal due to access
North Fork Falls- North Fork Poudre IV <300 <--Not park and huck
Whiteline- Poudre Narrows V- <200
20'er- South Mineral Creek V <150 <--Boof required

well...not really what you're asking for, but the damn drop on LSBC makes for a good photo and no-consequences drop.

as long as you can handle urban oohs and ahs.

Lame

That is one of the gayest things I have ever heard "I want to run a waterfall to put a picture on my wall and have people say WoW" Come on, kayaking is about the feeling of accomplishment, the people you're with and the places you see. People who want a photo on the wall are missing the point.
