water on the upper C?

So I keep hearing that we're going to get a steady 1000cfs but when? tried to look up water release schedules but didn't come up with anything. I heard they were doing some kind of repairs at the shoshone powerplant, and had to keep it down to 500 or so, not sure if this is whats going on.

Any ideas? After dragging my low-riding 9-load down the river today, 1000cfs sounds like a dream, especially after last year.

also, any progress being made on the Gore Canyon WW park proposal?

thanks!

I'd love to hear the answer to those questions as well!

At the State of the Rivers address last month in Frisco, Bureau of Reclamation predicted outflows from Green Mtn would rise to 600-700 from mid-June thru the end of July (compared to last year's outflow during that same time at 2000 cfs). My understanding is if there's not enough in Green Mtn, they'll "borrow" water from Wolford and Williams Fork to accommodate the downstream water obligations.

Kara, the public information officer from the BOR said this recently on her facebook page concerning releases to the upper C:

"I have to say I'm not optimistic. There is just no snow, as everyone knows. I think the Blue River Basin snowpack was down to less than 5% of average, already. We're storing what we can and I have not heard of any plans to increase releases for the time being."

As of yesterday the green mountain reservoir was 26 ft below average

According to the BOR, if Green Mountain doesn't fill, it becomes a substitution year... substitution is from Williams Fork and/or Wolford Reservoirs. Senior water rights downstream will keep the Upper Colorado flowing, just not a huge flow.

well thanks for the replies, still no solid answer. I WANT to believe the blue will come up, I'd love to hit some lower blue runs, but driving by, it's definitely looking pretty low @ green mtn. I was assured that we would get our 1000cfs at some point this summer. maybe the boss-man was just trying to keep morale up .

I just looked at the advanced hydrological prediction for the Dotsero gauge (shoshone) and its looking like it will be running @ 1000 by next tuesday. I guess my girlfreind picked the right time to learn how to kayak
