Video Highlight - Opal Creek / Opal Gorge (OR)

Some footage of our run down Opal Creek/Gorge yesterday. It's been awhile since I've been on this classic class IV creek, and it was my first time through The Gorge, which is one of the most spectacular places I've ever been.

I was able to get on Opal Creek in my one trip to Oregon. It is one of the prettiest and most pristine canyons anywhere. Definitely a great stretch of river that you don't hear a lot about. We took out before the gorge, but that looks good to (except for the portage). I'll have to go back and check that out.

I have tried to make sure the reviews Iíve done on my blog are my honest assessment of The Tuna. Although Iím a Bliss-Stick Ambassador, I was a fan of their boats before joining the team, which is the main reason I decided to do so.

For me the Tuna, is the best creekboat Iíve paddled, but of course, this is based on my paddling style and what Iíve grown accustom to. As an example, Iíve owned/paddled a couple of displacement hull boats (e.g. the Nomad), and although I know that they are great boats, I had a really hard time paddling them. The Tuna, like any other boat, is not perfect, and I do have a couple small gripes, but none of which are performance related. If you havenít seen my reviews, they can be found here:

Wheels & Water: First Impressions - Bliss-Stick Tuna

Wheels & Water: Follow-Up Review - Bliss-Stick Tuna (multi-day self-support)

Wheels & Water: Final Review - Bliss-Stick Tuna

Hope this helps!

It does and I appreciate your honesty. I've spoken with Jason LaSelva and was with him during Moosefest and had the opportunity to the see the boat in action and I am really digging it. It's always good to get multiple opinions though. I will be ordering my Tuna after the first of the year and I can't wait to paddle it. Again thank you. Happy holidays!!
