Video: Day of the Russell Fork Gorge from an unseen perspective.

Here is a video I made a few weeks ago that shows all the major rapids on the Russell Fork Gorge. The perspective is from a 4 foot boom angled 45 degrees back and mounted to the stern. Enjoy!

Anyone who has never made it out to the Russell Fork River should at least check this out.

I saw that when you posted to BoaterTalk after the Rendevous weekend. I dig it, the play by play is a nice touch. I made a low water Russell Fork video "guide" a few years ago showing al the rapids with different angles, this is an excellent compliment for release flows. You should submit this to the NPFF.

How exactly did you make the stern mount?

I think I saw the guide video you made...I liked it. I am glad you liked the video.

So the boom was a carbon fiber paddle shaft epoxyed to a piece of plywood and bolted to the top stern of the boat. Used a go pro. I will try and find a picture of it.

Great camera perspective. I used to drive down from Chicago to paddle that all the time back in the day and miss that river. Thanks for sharing.

That is quite the drive but the Russell Fork is worth it. With its own release season it one of the places to hit and return to over a life of paddling.
