Upper Gunny

Hi all,

If anyone has advice on a shuttle for the Upper Gunny North Bridge run please let me know. I can't find any so far. Also I was going to do the North Bridge to Twin Bridges run and if anyone has any info on this float it would be appreciated, i.e. any rapids or pretty mellow.

The commercial rafting company on the main hiway into town (sorry I don't remember the name) was kind enough to give us a shuttle a while back. They were very reasonable ( like $10 or so).

the Upper Gunny is really easy. Its the easiest of the three gunny town runs. You should be able to bum a ride or hitch a ride pretty easy, its a popular run with the fishermen. if not then Scenic River Tours (970-641-3131) should probably be able to hook you up.

the run itself is easy, theres a handful of rocks to watch out for in the first mile, and a few miles down there is an awkward bridge that angles across the river and has some scary metal pilings. it goes easy. after that its all easy class I. when are you going? i work days until 4:30 but would be down to go after that.....

Thanks dude. Looking at Wednesday earlier in the day but who knows. Thanks for the info. Is there a move I must take to avoid the "scary metal pile ons are just keep er straight. I have heard good things about this stretch for beginners so I am excited to try it out. Are there any diversion dams or anything else or pretty flat? Thanks again and if it's good I will be back for sure.
