Upper Death Runnable?

Any low water whores out there that have ran upper death and down at 1040 cfs? Creeky and runnable? Mankfest? Sievefest? Stick with barrel springs?...

upper death isn't for running 1040. they use the same gauge that section as they do for Shoshone. but the power plant takes somewhere in the range of 800 cfs out of the river right above the rapid and doesn't put it back in until right above shoshone.

Just went fishing in that section a few days ago (good fishing btw). Upper death is too low, the rest will run, but it is seriously hard core ELF/low water territory. Its too low for me and I boat all winter. I'd bring the playboat, and make the most of about 20 good boofs. But creeky...no more like mini water park.

Thanks for the beta gentlemen. But after seeing it this past weekend, all is a go. Upper death is definitely a V+ right now but runnable. Lacking a full face and the fact that my balls fit in my boat quite easily, we put right below the crux of upper death and ran everything else. Life after was super mellow but barrel springs was creeky fun, just don't center line the last big boof due to a piton rock right behind it. Otherwise, I'd recommend any IV+ boater to get in there!
