upper animas

im heading to durango today and thought about trying this run any information on how it is? is it possibly a playboat run?

The water is very cold and the river is long. You'll want to be comfortable and plan on a very long day. I wouldn't want to be in a playboat for that long.

Are you kidding? Why would you need to be better than those guys to paddle the upper in a play boat?

The upper is not really a play run becasue it is so cold and long and there isn't too much great play, but it is not that hard.

no you don't, but if you are it should be no problem. its pretty high right now and snowing. you want me to tell a guy I don't know its a piece of cake? maybe at low water when its 90 out. he can do whatever he wants but don't blame me.

hows the [upper] rockwood box? which line did you take at entrance? we are doing 3rd lime [cascade] through the box on tues. am if anyone wants to join us.
