We thought the last day of a multi-day cruise on Yellowstone Lake would be a piece of cake. All the food was eaten so the boats were light, and we were in great shape. We were paddling a Necki tandem and towing a smaller kayak as a cargo barge (worked wonderfully, by the way). But somehow in loading we altered the trim of one (or both!) of the boats and it felt like we were towing a whale. Extreme drag! I think it's a matter of weight fore-aft distribution.
Any comment on loading/trim of a kayak would be welcome. Thanks, John
