The Lion's Den. (Red lion Bridge on Boulder CK
While the rest of our crew bailed out due to excess law enforcement, Baird and I put on in the face of construction crews and caution tape. We launched near Blue Bridge, and headed for the Red lion bridge, while demolition crews worked to remove it. By the time we got there, only the gapers were left. A quick scout yielded a jumbled boof over the remaining culvert and debris. The crabby German owner was watching from his side of the river waving fingers for us not to run it. I resisted the urge to reply with my own one fingered wave and sent it with Baird hot on my tail. While not the greatest rapid on the creek, its a decent boof that no longer requires a portage!
Flows were around 700 or 750. The right culvert is still in there, with water draining through it. Not sure what this will look like at lower flows, but it needs lots of work, before it is ready for a new bridge.
Unless someone got it before us, we're calling it the Lion's Den. The Red Turd was kicked around and rejected.
The creek is so fun at this level. Get it, as it will be gone soon.
Baird givin' it. Toni taking pic's.
