The freeing of the Elwha

Thought boater you boater types might like this. The dams are being removed from the Elwha River in Northwest Washington. Glines is supposed to be blown today. Slide shows of webcams showing removal of the dams and draining of the lakes can be seen here:

Still no *BOOM*! If you go to the first website I posted you can watch the whole process on a slide show where you set the pace of advance, kind of like a movie, and it updates with each fram taken from the webcam.

Cheers id like to see one of the reservoirs on the north platte river removed. all would be very unlikely but i think one could go. the rescreation activites at alcova are far to great for a resered effect even though the recreation through the canyon would be outstanding!

I was up there this spring. It's such a beautiful river. The destruction of that dam makes me think humans might not be parasitic monsters after all...nah.
