Ok, so this takes math... it's this gauge, minus this gauge. And it takes more water than is (unfortunately) usually in it (these days).... I'd say minimum 300 for a kayak, 500 for a raft. And go with someone who knows it, it's a long (16.5 mile) day of technical wilderness class III-IV & it really helps to have someone who knows the lines. It is especially long and technical at low water and can be harrowing. The Box is beautiful and Magical, I hope you get to experience it. I suggest a big bonfire, some sort of sacrifice to the rain gods and heartfelt naked pagan rain dances in hopes of even a small Box season this year...

Some of us have scraped some bare bones this year... there was a little bit of water in March, & last November... but yeah, the answer is not really.

Think 6 hrs on the water... not including the hour long shuttle. Seriously, find someone who knows the run to go with.

info

go to this page: New Mexico Whitewater kayaking
and ask your question.
Lots of folks boated it recently when it came up.
Personally, 600 cfs min for me and it has to be the middle of Winter and I am craving water.
Starts getting fun above 1000cfs.
Smiles at 2000cfs.
Go anytime it is above 3000cfs.
Epic fun factor above 5000cfs.
Probably never see that again......

It can be run down to as low as you wanna go. Portages start to happen below 400 cfs.
Great place to explore. have fun...
