Steep Artificial Whitewater

Thought some may be interested in photographs taken today at the Tees Barrage here in the North East of England.

The water is brown due to the course diverting some water from the peat laden River Tees.

Reminds me of ASCI in Western Maryland, they also have a conveyer but the course is recirculating. Pumps move water from a holding pond at the bottom to the top of the course. I had the easiest job ever pushing rubber there for a few years. Imagine being a guide that never had to move custie gear or rafts more then 15 ft. No shuttle, just a 15 minute break before trips.

Ah Ha!
So that is why they all ways asked me if we took out the same place we put in!
We can't always agree, but we can still be civil to each other.
