Steamboat Area III/-IV?

Anything running? Is it worth hauling my boat down there? Are the play holes still in?
As you can tell any info would be appreciated.
As a second thought anyone want to go kayaking? I'll be down there wed-fri.I'm still a novice so mainly III and maybe low IV.
Thanks
Luke

I don't know what levels the holes are in at but you may be able to get some surfing in. Looks like the Steamboat Town run and Lower Elk are still running at a low level too. Cross Mountain becomes III+ish under 1000.

cool thanks, is there a time most of the kayakers are down there if there are any? My evenings are going to be kind of filled but I might be able to get away.

not many kayaks on the river these days.

Expect a lot of tubers from 5th street thru 12 street. put in behind staples at Fetcher pond.

probably most traffic 1-6pm

you might consider tubing it

Lower Elk can be pretty bumpy class III at this level...I would recommend heading out to Cross. Great gorge and should have a line or two @ 1300. The lowest I've run it is 2400....so someone else might state otherwise.

I definitely have good memories of steamboat Cross MTN Cook Out festivals...with CHAN and crew. Rocky's food...beer...paddling...Pour City rescues.
Chunderposse!

Anyways...check out Cross.
