SOTAR, STAR, SOAR, SATURN ?

Ever wonder if SOAR, STAR, and SATURN were simply hoping for confused customers when they named their companies? The words SOAR and STAR are SOTAR with one letter removed, and SATURN isn't far off.

So you're saying we need to start a rafting company and call it SOTA or SOTURN?

Exactly, if you want to ride on the coattails of the reputation SOTAR has built and deserves.

How about a NOVA brand boat?
(Its avon backwards)

==========

If all this capitalistic protectionism bothers one you can go straight thru to:
Rafting Boat-China Rafting Boat Manufacturers & Suppliers - Made in China

China makes great boats TO CONSIDER if you don't like SOTAR.

I hate to tell you this, but there is a company called Nova that makes inflatables! Not to mention Novurania - a boat & coated fabric maker.

In Larry Laba's defense, being that he only started out making three sizes of inflatable canoes, he probably wasn't thinking of Glen's company when he named SOAR (somewhere on a river).

Going way back to the 1970's there was a high end audiophile gear maker called SOTA. When I first heard Whitewater Manufacturing use the acronym SOTAR I sort of wondered if they got the idea from them.

Stay On The Agile Raft is the usual response.

Point of view determines which acronym translation.

I'd love to own a SOTAR.
I really like Oregon inventors like Leatherman etc.

Cat'ers need not respond.
