I've always wondered about this one. I've heard a couple people talking about running short stretches of boogy at the very bottom of the creek but they definitely didn't touch those stretches. Good work.

1rst?

Wasn't this listed as a first about five years ago on this forum?

I thought it was. Regardless, good job getting after it.

to clarify

Agree with Count. The earlier post was about something lower. (from memory) Don't want to rain on an awesome write up and epic accomplishment.

I'd love some more specific info about access/egress.

The access, first drive up old snowmass road, boof left when it T's, drive untill you cross the creek, take your next right to the snowmass creek trailhead. Hike about 7 miles, look to the right where a tributary comes in from river left out of a sick little valley with a huge mountain at the end (the tributary has some rapids, not sure if it would be worth it). This is the bottom of the crux section. Hike along the trail a bit more to where the trail meets it again, hike down the creek, here are the top slides, shortly after the 60 footer awaits. If anyone runs this at high high water they would officially be my hero. Shit is stacked. We painted our boats. I believe Sam and Eleanor Perry have the first descent on the lower section, there is a sweet 15 footer in there, check it out. There is some super continuous mank just after the gorge, we ran a little bit of it, but then it gets super stacked, and pretty sketch. The runout is mostly class 2 with and occasional 4, look out for wood, small eddies if any and strainers are abundant. Fire her up. Working on some more updates from chile. Stay tuned
