Snake River (jackson) Massive Slide

Check out the size of this slide on the Snake.

Is this actually in the Alpine Canyon section? That's gonna make a serious rapid with the potential runoff !!

Yikes !!!!!!! Yes, Alpine Canyon between Alpine & Hoback Junction. Not sure exactly were though. Googled for more info. From the news reports I found they anticipate around 5 days to clear the road???

It's right by the taco hole and will take 10 days to clear once it stops moving. Talking 6 to 8 weeks before the road is open. Snake is 15000 or so right now and it's snowing high. Gonna be a big year in a lot of places this year, be safe

Heyooh! Wow.

Someone should dig up and dust off that landslide video from some kayakers in a gorge in WA or OR a few years ago. Nature is neato.

To float the canyon from my house in Hoback to Alpine, I gotta do a 120 mi. round trip shuttle and a 60mi. drive home after. Todays paper said it will take 5 days to clean up, BUT they are waiting for it to stop flowing before starting. Hopefully by the time I'm off the MFS!
