Slaughterhouse at 800?

A couple of us have been out here (orignially south east boaters) for 2 seasons now and still haven't gotten to Slaughterhouse. This weekend we have another friend coming out and thought this would be a good time to catch it. All 3 of us are solid IV-V boaters (upper Yough, North Chick, etc.).

Any reason not to take the playboats at this level (EZ and an I:3)? Anything to lookout for stooging it at this level? We're prepared to scout anything we can't see and obviously the falls.

Thanks,
Kirk

Take the playboats. You'll have fun. Upper Yough is considerably more difficult and continuous than slaughterhouse at this level.

my 2 cents.

Awesome play to be had on Slaughterhouse. I took my creeker last year when we put in on Castle Creek and was wishing I had my playboat when we got to Slaughterhouse. With the exception of the falls, UY is definitely a steeper run. Bring the playboat.

Take the play boat. Run the falls against the left bank. Boof. "You only get on chance to run a rapid blind." This drop is perfect for it.
