Shipping Oars?? (ups)

I bought some used oars and they are two states away. I am not sure how I am going to get them here. Both, the UPS and FedEx websites said they were longer than their allowed size. 108 inches was the biggest. The oars in a box are 122 inches. Anyone have experience with this?
Thanks

Call company that makes oars, or similar. Ask how they ship them.

Ask a stupid question but had to check

I would call one of the manufacturers like Sawyer and ask how they get around it. Truck freight?

Common carrier like R.A.C. or Estes express! I have had 24' aluminum tubing shipped from Denver to Durango several times and the rate seemed reasonable to me
