Second gorge, Lime Ck.

Almost dropped in yesterday, wasn't sure about enough flow or the wood situation. I understand there was a group down there yesterday. Any Beta?

Hey Sward,

I was with the guys who ran it yesterday, playing shuttle bunny and camera guy. It was pretty low. They were able to run the meat of the gorge, but any lower and I don't think it would be doable. Kyle was the first to run Deep Throat and got his paddle wedged at the bottom and had to let go of it. Luckily it was able to get freed up before the next two guys went. I'd say wait for some rain to possibly bring it up.

I don't have any pictures to post. I used my friends camera. Evan had a water proof camera inside the gorge and got some sweet shots. I think they started boating at about 10:30 and finished up around 5:00. There was a small piece of wood that was vertical in Deep Throat, but it wasn't a problem. They went right over the top of it. The run could have used about twice as much water. We'll probably post some pics on coloradokayaking.com in a few days.

Like Timmy said, we were able to get in and run it, but it was really low. I wouldn't go in at that level again. The amount of effort to get in and out of the good gorge was intense. That being said, it was awesome to get in there and check it out for the first time. Worth it for that reason alone. We will post some pics of 2nd gorge, lower Rockwood, and NF Crystal. Vallecito was good too, but really low so we didn't bother with pics.

If you are looking for hair in the Durango area check out Lower Rockwood. That run is super commiting, roudy, and fun!
