Safety volunteers needed for SSV creek race

The The Adam Barron Memorial South Saint Vrain Creek race has become one of the most anticipated races in all of Colorado.

This year's race will be Saturday June 11th, along with an entire weekend of Lyons Outdoor Games (LOG).

Volunteers should have basic whitewater rescue experience and skills, along with basic personal safety equipment such as rope, knife and pin kit.

There is no official compensation, but there is usually a free meal or two along with some Oskar Blues beer and various schwag and t shirt possibilities.

Viewing this race in person, is possibly the best part of the deal.

Interested parties should go to this link to share their intentons: *Lyons Outdoor Games | Safety Boaters

The Lyons link at the end of the original post, is the best way to get on the safety boating list.

Levels look good to race the narrows proper. We could still use a few more volunteers for safety.

A question for the LOG organizers... Looking at the schedule I only see pre-registration listed on Friday. I am on the fence for racing SSV, but if the levels are okay then I was going to go get humbled by some pros. Can we still register for the SSV race on Saturday morning prior to the racers meeting? Online registration is closed, but it says on there that we can register one hour prior to the event.

If I don't race then I will help with safety.
