"Rumor about Punchbowls?"

Hey Folks,

I heard a rumor about someone getting hurt running the puchbowls up on the crystal. It was from a "non-boating" friend.

I have been out of the loop lately. Has anyone heard anything about that?

Tom C.

There was an incident at the "Devil's" Punchbowl on independence pass. This is a swimming hole / cliff jump area that is .25 miles toward Aspen from the "Grotto's day use area"

Articles from Aspen Times:

Man dies after jump into ‘Punchbowl’ near Aspen

Punchbowl victim was Aspen man

A very tragic accident. Condolences to the family and the Crew at the T lazy 7.

Tom, I believe that your friend might have been thinking about this incident.

I'm sure that is what he was talking about.

It used to be called the Devils Punchbowl but Asspen has gotten too P.C. now a days. The other one I've known as Lincoln Creek Punchbowl

The 2 jumps up Lincoln Creek are good times. I have only ever heard them called the cliff jumps up Lincoln Creek. AKA #2 and #5.
