Ruby/horsethief take out-parking

I have heard bad things about breakins at the ruby/horsethief take out. Does anyone have a suggestion. I would like to avoid ending a fun trip with that type of nonsense.

Would't setting up a shuttle be the easiest way? What are the places to look out for(theft). Just looking for a little help. You are the guy with the name that refers to anal residue-----Slick

Soo do it and quit asking questions that have been asked a million times. Personally,i'd want my shit waiting for me at the take-out at Westwater. But,apparently you want someone to drive you back to your car at the put-in at Loma(where the cars get broken into)?? Or am i missing somethin?

Barry's a dingle. I have also heard of break in's at the putin, but never known anyone who actually had their ride broken into. I've parked there several times with no incident. The take out, Westwater is definitely safe.

Back in September of ’04 one of my crew’s cars got broken into at Loma boat ramp. Driver’s window smashed and stole the cassette tapes and an empty cooler.

I found out about it at Westwater Ranger Station, but didn’t tell the car’s owner until we were at the “Smoker Hole” near the Cisco takeout… No need to ruin a good Westy run..

Loma vs. Fruita

Hearing tales of break-ins at the Loma ramp, we launched upstream at Fruita State Park, which is regulated to the f-ing max.

Float between Fruita and Loma: yawn, scratch.

After we paid the fee to launch and park a car (not to camp) the rangeroids tried to extract a second payment when we came back to get it, for driving into the park for five minutes.

So I let my friend off and he jogged in, for free, while I waited outside the border crossing.

Colorado Über Alles!
