RUBY HORSE THIEF?? 1st trip!! need info!

HI!! So its my first overnight!!! awesome huh! cant belive it took so long to get this notch on my bed post! really excited... so anyway got my first boat too! I love her! "The BiG MoistY" dont worry its is not ment to be offensive.. So I am looking for information on the Ruby Horse Thief canyon...Or if anyone has any takers on some Westwater guests?? Anything will make me happy! As for now just Horse Thief is our plan.. I was thinking about puting in at Fruita State Park..not sure where the put in is? INFO? also interested in possible camp spots along the trip that may be off the norm.. or on the norm.. heard of black rock?? sound good.. but better suggestestions will be heard. Also was thinking probably a gallon of water per person a day is good? BUT... How much PBR and Scotch a day? So anyway the jokes are not imporatant but if anyone can offer any iformation I would be thrilled to have it even down to where you can camp in Fruita.... Thank guys.. OH by the way the dates of our float will be Sept. 14th and 15th.. interested? byob! haha

If your a hiker check out rattle snake arches... see map at Loma put in. Everybody knows the best camp sites are at black rocks. Oh, and watch out for the disappearing horizon line at river mile 12.3...approximately after 12 schlitz's are consumed. Cheers!

Sounds like an exciting time! I'd be up for joining your party if the invite is still open? I've never been on this run, I can do this in a kayak right? I'd enjoy the break from classes at UCCS, so, Please keep me in mind as this trip gets closer, thanks!

In a kayak? Hmmmm... Sounds a bit scary. You might want to consider a blow up mattress. It gets pretty hairy on RH.

No, for the reals, it is the mellowest river on the planet. Ray Charles could run it in a kayak.

Yeah, no disrespect to Ray intended, but the water is just that flat.

Waterfall????

Awsome! HAHA. Sounds like it will be a pretty mellow float for my first over-nighter as well.

So, eddy flower says that there's a 400ft Waterfall...is that sarcasm or is there really a huge waterfall? If there is a waterfall, how threatening is the landing? Is it mostly a big Pool Drop? I've got a Jackson Hero, do I need a specific creeker for the drop?
