River Gypsies new guidebook to North America

Holy high-water, what a sick new guidebook. Just got it in the mail last night. 400 pages of kayak'y goodness. Totally geared towards kayakers and everything class3 and above.

This thing's definitely gonna help me find my fun in B.C.,PNW and Mexico. Lots of other stuff covered too. Sierras, N. and Southern Rockies, N.E., Mid-atlantic,S.E.

It even has Missoura...but I'll be damned if I recognize Missoura as a state.

Lots of local contributor folk and tons of pics too. This book might just get me through til spring. Thanks to Andria and Leland! Such a good book, had to rant.

Agreed, great new book. Leland and Andria definitely put a lot of work into it. I stayed up way too late last night reading through the book and I want to go boating now! This book makes you want to road trip now!

One thing I liked about the book was the info about weather, snowpack, rain, and how the various regions of the country get flows. Nice discussion. Also, never heard the term diurnal used in relation to the melt cycle, but the discussion was spot on. Great discussion for rain fed boaters coming to snowmelt regions. Cool stuff.

If you want to get one, go to the brushy mountain publishing site....

Ian I am shocked that you've not heard the term "diurnal flux"for daily peak and troughs.

Check out my boof at Supermax. Pretty old school with the Inazone. Thanks Leland. Nice to see myself getting some press instead of Riley hogging it all.

Drooling to paddle something new, or just something.

Thanks, guys!

We really hope a lot of people enjoy the book and use it to wander around and explore new places, find new rivers, and have good times. If it makes you want to move into a vehicle full of smelly wet gear and crack open a beer, it's working

Many thanks to all of the buzzards who pitched in to help us with photos (and a description or two).

Leland
