Rio Chama Info

Anyone ever done the Wild and Scenic Section of the Rio Chama, the class II-III section that's usually rafted over 3 days or so? What's it like - camping, side hikes, rapids, scenery, shuttle, etc.?

It's a good trip. Since it's dam release, the water is very cold. Mandatory wetsuits for folks in duckies, in my opinion. Definitely spend at least one night in the wild/scenic section. Excellent camp sites. May want to spend two nights up there because the camping gets bad once past the monastery. Rapids were no big deal. Shuttle can easily be arranged with the folks who run the campground at the put in.
