Reliable Water Mid-May?

What are the odds of planning a trip for mid-May with friends who fly in from far off lands to paddle classic Colorado rivers only to find that there's not even enough water to float an amputated rubber duck? My recollection is that most rivers are up by the second week in May, but is the 15th cutting it a little fine? Anyone? Anyone?

If you have friends coming in from out of town that time of year, just be ready to travel. There is always something to paddle. You can paddle today if you are willing. May is usually a great boating time, ALL OF MAY. By June 15th I would be more nervous, but again there is water somewhere.

Whatever you do, don't take them to the same river we are on that day. Thanks JM
