random thoughts

Two parties passed over the weekend. What seems unique to my limited scope is that I can not recall a party passing with set safety. Both people this weekend seems to have set safety and carefully thought about what they were doing. The consequences of this sport are so high. I would never have set safety on a class 4 creek. They hit him with two ropes.

be careful. I have a heavy heart today.

Damn. I didn't hear about that one. I was out of town. One of the guys who was with him helped me out with my playboating this year. A great paddler and a great instructor. It sounds like it was a rough situation.
