Pueblo recomended flows

At what flow is Pueblo worth the drive from Golden? Spring break is next week and I'm hoping to get some boating in. Would Salida be a better bet? Thanks.

you don't want to go to salida because the flow is a around 250 cfs and i went there from western state two weeks ago and it was at 500 cfs and it was pretty good so 200 will not do anyhting. the website for pueblo can tell you most http://www.pueblopaddlers.org/Whitewater%20Park.htm but i think you can go i was thinking about the same cause my spring break is next week also and i want to get some boating in. oh and is your pool session open to everyone or do you have to go to mines? i was trying to find a place to paddle around cause our pool is closed till may so im iching just to sit in it.

In the past there has always been some non-Mines students in the pool. I don't know what the official policy is though. Maybe someone with the club will chime in with pool session info...

Josh, I'll give you a ring if flows in Pueblo are worth the drive. I assume you'll be in the metro area during break. Any particular day work best for you?

The water is a bit low right now (346 cfs) but still fun, with seven holes there's a lot of variety. well, seven holes if your feeling brave, six if not. however, the weather is going to be against you. rain/snow monday and tuesday, looks like it won't get back up to around 60 untill thursday. The saturday before mother's day we are having a river festival with a guaranteed flow of 1000.

I was thinking of a weekend trip to Pueblo to check it out, but now I see flows are down to 70 cfs. http://waterdata.usgs.gov/co/nwis/uv/?site_no=07099970

It looks like we need at least 300-350 to make it worth it. Any flow predictions available?

When is mother's day. Why should I remember when mother's day is? I have a hard enough time tracking Christmas.

I don't think pueblo at 350 is very much fun. Don't you have a bike?
