Please help a paddler out

Hey Buzzards:
I'm doing a business proposal related to paddlesports for a college class, and I could really use your help gathering some market data.
Mad karma to you if you can take 2 minutes to answer some or all of these questions. (Plus I'll pay you one takeout beer, redeemable any time you catch me on the river.
Survey:
How many gaskets have you replaced on your drytops/drysuits over the past three years? Did you replace them yourself, or did you pay to have it done somewhere?
If you paid, how much did you pay per gasket (parts plus labor) and where did you have it done?
Have you had to repair a cracked kayak in the past three years?
If so, did you weld it, or just use bitchethane or something like it?
If you welded it, did you weld it yourself, or pay to have it welded somewhere?
If you paid, how much did you pay and where did you have it done?
---
Thanks a lot, Buzzards. See ya on the river. Gore's still going and snow is falling up high. Right on.
-Mike G.

Used a bicycle patch kit to repair a split ankle gasket last year. So far so good.

9 replaced, I have replaced them myself, had a shop do it and sent it back to kokatat

If you paid, how much did you pay per gasket (parts plus labor) and where did you have it done?
kokatat is the cheapest local shop is a bit more expensive but faster

Have you had to repair a cracked kayak in the past three years?
Yes, at least 10-15 cracks welded
If so, did you weld it, or just use bitchethane or something like it?
weld is somewhat permanent, bitchethane for expedition fixes

If you welded it, did you weld it yourself, or pay to have it welded somewhere?
did it myself and for others, I take beer as payment

I have replaced 2 neck gaskets in my Kokatat in the last 3 years. Did them both myself.

I have "repaired" a cracked Pyranha Ammo this year. Bitchethane and Gorilla Tape.

Have repaired 2 neck gaskets in last 3 years. One I did myself, and one I had done by Eric at Inflatable Restoration and Repair in Howard. I traded some salsa for the repair and gasket.

brought in one gasket to be replaced (to confluence kayaks), they turned the drytop inside out and said my seams tape was coming undone... sent the top back to NRS and NRS sent me a new one no charge.
side note... i am now a very loyal NRS fan.

one kayak crack... bitched it myself and fluid did a warranty on it (a 3 year old boat), got a new bazooka for 45% of retail.
..... yeah a loyal Fluid fan too. i beat the crap out of the one that cracked and told them so.
