Pin in Poudre middle narrows and very nice rescue

Impressive video on YouTube of a log-pin and rescue from this past Monday. Looks like this log is in the top of Sports Car Corner, right in the middle, and if it's still there, presumably hard to see from above. If / when the water comes up another few inches, it could be completely under water and be very difficult to see, even from the big rock on the corner.

Here's the URL:

Props to the guys doing the rescue. Very nice demo of setting things up, team work, and getting it done. Good quick thinking.

If anyone knows the status for this log (still there, gone?) please post.

i had a couple questions. Guy did a great job. Once the Kayak was released, and he started downriver, he was still live bait. If the rope got stuck, he could just pull his quick release on the d ring that is attached to his rescue vest? And what was done with the second rope?

Just wondering for future rescues, i know having so much line in the water can be a problem.

Great job though.

That was fucking intense. Way to stay cool and make the save before things got any worse.

Nice Save. That guy recognized when it was "go time", then acted. He was clearly already versed in river rescue, and quickly applied that knowledge. Making that quick decision to act isn't something that everyone just does, videos like this can greatly help folks know when to make that decision. Well done.

That was intense ... and all of it without CGI.

The real question is whether a badass rescue on the river is sufficient to lift a life time ban on the buzz

It seems like with the awful ways that some people treat others on this site, receiving a lifetime ban would be pretty hard penalty to "achieve". With that said, hopefully the good things we contribute to life are considered and not just dismissed out of hand because of previous mis-steps.

Peace.

And I mean PEACE.

There was some risk bringing that second line out, but needed something for the entrapped boater to use. Appreciated the way he tried to keep them in their boat/get the skirt back on if possible. Sometimes you just want out of your boat if pinned like that. Cool heads all around - great job!
