Paddling with Erik Weihenmayer, blind kayaking down Shoshone.

Yesterday I ran into Erik as he is getting ready to paddle the Grand Canyon in a kayak. Amazing guy. The video is a bit rough but you get the idea. Paddlers giving him verbal directions as he navigates down the river. He made it down and caught the eddy. He did better then I did the first time I every ran shoshone!

I have the pleasure to meet him a few times as well, it is inspiring to see the things he still commits to and succeeds at. Definitely a better line than mine as well. Wish him luck, that is awesome.

Awesome indeed!
On the river, I can abandon who I am and what I've done. However brief it lasts, while on the river I am nothing important and everything insignificant. I am flotsam, and happy to be so.

Thanks for posting this, Hobie! He was in Golden River Sports renting a kayak with Rob on Monday and I thought about him all day wondering how he did. Awesome, of course!
