Paddling Washington in October

Just wondering if anyone could tell me of anything to paddle in the class 4-5 range that would be running in the month of October. Would be staying in the Seattle area willing to drive.

A couple hours from Seattle but the NF Nooksack near Bham is a great 4+ run! Super easy to lap. I'm sure more is/ or will be coming in soon but this is the only run i've been able to hit so far(new here) and its worthwhile boatin. It runs a lot too.

It is a bit of a drive, but don't discount the White Salmon in southern Wa. It is a gem. Not sure if you are in a Kayak or a bigger boat, but Husum falls is not to be missed in a raft.

You can check flows on American Whitewater - AW Homepage

Robe is probably the best thing that is close to Seattle in the IV/V range. There is also Canyon Creek right next to Robe (on the S. Fork Stillaguamish) if Robe is more than you want.

If it's raining, you'll have tons of possibilities between Seattle and Bellingham and even Southern BC: Clearwater near Bellingham, as someone mentioned N. Fork Nooksack, Norrish Creek near Abbotsford, BC, Fall in the Wall up on Snoqualamie Pass, and lots more! There are tons of options.

Have fun out there!

Like Darcy said, Robe is one of the best...but even better is Ernie's Canyon. Only 40 minutes east of Seattle, it is the class V run in the area most likely to have water in October. It's been in a couple days over the last few weeks. Not sure how hard of class V you are looking for, but if you're qualified you don't want to miss this one.
