Paddling Survey for Thesis

Survey | Qualtrics Survey Software

Continued Participation in Whitewater Kayaking
Whitewater kayaking is a sport defined by progression. Each paddler starts with the basics, learning proper terminology as well as fundamental skills. If this is true, then what allows some individuals to progress to the amazing levels we see in person, in videos, in images, and in Facebook updates, while others are left somewhere in between, often to their frustration? The goal of this research is to identify which constraints (barriers limiting or restricting an individual’s ability to participate in a given activity) are present at various points in the development of one’s kayaking “career” (leisure or professional), as well as what techniques (methods, strategies or procedures that allow an individual to work around a barrier) have proven successful in negotiating these barriers and allowed individuals to continue to progress. I thank you in advance for your willingness to participate!

You forgot water levels. No water = no boating, no boating = no progression. That's what happened to me last summer and now I can't wait for spring to come around.

No chance someone can grow a pair forcing themselves down the likes of O-B-J, through the Black, off Kegerman's Falls, to paddle Taylor in April with a shorty...?

No argument if you say "no" Steve, just wondering. Nature vs. nurture question I guess.

yeah ok but then in the 'survey' it takes all about gender bias type of stuff.

So maybe Balls is the answer. But I still don't totally get your academic geek speak and what you are trying to prove.

Seriously man, I've been to college, graduated with honors and have a social science background, and I can't make head or tail of that mess.

It makes sense, but it takes some work, and the design is pretty convoluted.

Surely you know that when designing any poll or survey you must make it simple, accessible and navigable. That is the challenge.

I get what you're trying to do, but when factoring into your "techniques" that accompany each constraint, it just really makes it harder than it has to be to figure out.

In other words, you're making the survey taker do the work for you.

Good. I thought it was just me for a bit. Being under edumacated and all.

The divergence from gender based/biased results in the link to what are the obstacles in the above.....well. I guess I covered that.
