Outfitting for comfort

I have a Pyranah S6F 192. I am 5'8 and in reasonable shape. My boat is fairly comfortable but after 15 minutes the outside of my hips kill. Two or three days after boating they still hurt. I have loosened the hip pads without a major difference. Is this a fitness issue that might eventually go away? I wonder if I should shim my knees in so they don't go so far out? Maybe that would ease the discomfort in my hips. Anybody else have this problem?
