This is why Dave is so good when paddling the Ark in the summer.............he paddles all year.

nice. that is z-dam in Richmond, VA. I was there the day before on Saturday. it is one of the best holes I have seen when it is at the right levels.

thats sweet i like the air time and the big ass log in the back... did they make that for recreation use or was that already part of the dam?

pretty sure it is a fish ladder type of break in the lowhead dam, definitely preceded kayaker recreation. but it is a great spot. it was sweet this weekend because the water was warmer than the air temp, about 50 degrees in the water and 45 outside.
