(Registration Sept 25th 12 noon to 6pm) Ogden, Utah
When the water and the leaves start drying up and you begin to worry about spiders in your paddling booties, the Ogden Mountain-2-Metro Games cranks open the spigot for one last dousing.
Paddlers in heats of five will race head-to-head down the Ogden narrows. The top two in each heat will move on to the next round. With 40 paddlers that makes three or four rounds before we determine the overall winners. You will track your status via a large white-board at the finish line. Register on Friday from 12:00 – 6:00 at the Mountain Expo in downtown Ogden, check out the free High Adventure Mountain Film Festival Friday evening from 8:00 – 10:00pm. Mountain 2 Metro
Due to become one of the western states' premier mountain games events, the Ogden Mountain 2 Metro games will host a variety of other sporting events from trail running to road biking. Designed to showcase the city's proximity to world class mountain recreation opportunities, the games attract a large number of event participants from all over the western U.S. As other rivers in the nation are drying up this fall, the Ogden River will be raging for the duration of the event because of a recreational release of water from nearby Pineview Resevoir. Water hungry paddlers from all over the state, as well as paddlers from Colorado and Idaho, will make their way to Ogden to compete and enjoy the flow.
